PUPPETEER

As a puppeteer, Alex has performed in a number of films, commercials, digital shorts, and live performances covering a variety of performance styles.

Active in the puppet community, Alex is the Film Coordinator for Heather Henson's Handmade Puppet Dreams film series, Vice President of the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry, and a Director at Large for the Puppeteers of America. Writing about puppet films and other happenings, Alex is a columnist for the Puppetry Journal, and contributes to the LA Guid of Puppetry's Puppet Life. Alex also curates the Reel Puppetry Film Festival for the Puppeteers of America.

Alex has attended the prestigious Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Puppetry Conference for seven years, studying with Marty Robinson (Sesame Street), Tyler Bunch (The Muppets), Ronnie Burkett (The Daisy Theater), and many more. In 2014, he was invited to be an Emerging Artist at the conference, directing his own short table-top toy theater piece, "Northern Lights."

As a cinematographer and director, Alex has worked on a number of puppet projects big and small, often working both behind and in front of the camera. Alex recently wrapped filming the upcoming all-puppet feature 'Yamasong: March of the Hollows' for director Sam Koji Hale and Dark Dunes Productions.

As a photographer, Alex has been behind-the-scenes and event photographer for many productions, events, and people. His photographs have been seen in Playbill, Puppet Life, The Iowa Source, The Puppetry Journal, and he has been an official photographer for the National Puppetry Festival for the past three years.

Alex cares deeply for the puppet community, the art and craft that it represents.

Alex is a film coordinator for Ibex Puppetry's Handmade Puppet Dreams, a Director at Large for Puppeteer of America, and Vice President of the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry.

For this sizzle reel, Alex served as both gaffer (lighting), and puppeteer, alongside puppeteers Michael Oosterom and Adrian Rose Leonard. After this reel, Alex stepped into the Director of Photography role.

Alex combined forces and curated these

exclusive Handmade Puppet Dreams collections for the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry.
